What do you look for in a true friend?
I look for someone who listens, who understands, and who I know I can trust with my secrets. I look for someone who I can both laugh and cry with. I look for someone who, like me, doesn't mind doing geeky things like trade report cards. I look for someone who is so different from myself, who shines on the basketball court in ways I never could, because then I can go and watch and cheer for her from the sidelines. I look for someone who encourages me to depend on and love God. I look for someone I can comfortably be rivals with in AP English and know it's never going to end like it did for Phineas and Gene in A Separate Peace. I look for someone who loves writing, as I do, and longs to become a published writer, as I do. I look for someone who takes pretty pictures, as well as someone who takes professional pictures. I look for someone who makes me laugh and laugh just by saying, “Employees…” and clapping her hands. I look for someone who, amazingly, can tolerate my ongoing excuses for not running three times a week like I promise to. I look for someone who is so beautiful and yet can see beauty in others. A big thank you to my true friends, for letting me find you.

today i went to a farm!
well. it wasn't exactly a SHEEP farm. but it was a very nice farm anyway. my aunt catherine grew up in tai po and her mom actually owns a farm! she has chickens and vegetables and even a little puppy(he isn't actually a part of the farm. he's just a puppy). the vegetables are in rows just like in the pictures! in fact, some of the vegetables she grew are in our fridge right now. we had some for dinner. see? real farm.
it was kind of funny because i said, "i want to marry a farmer when i grow up."
and my aunt's mom was like, "do NOT marry a farmer when you grow up."
maybe she just means i shouldn't be vegetable farmer?

Once upon a time, there lived a woman who was seventy-six years old and blind. This woman had lived in a nursing home for many years, doing nothing but eating, sleeping, and listening to the radio, but the day she turned seventy-six she decided it was time to start something new. "Time is running short, "she told herself. "I simply must do what I've always wanted to do."
She requested a pair of scissors from the kindest of the nurses at the old folks' home and asked if she would like a haircut. "For free, of course," she added grandly.
The nurse, a young, soft-hearted woman named Lisa, reluctantly agreed. The old lady giggled delightedly and proceeded to give Lisa the shock of her life. In ten minutes, Lisa had become as bald as a watermelon.
"Are you sure you're blind?" Lisa asked in disbelief as she stood before the bathroom mirror, her scalp shiny and bare.
"Oh, yes," the old woman cackled as Lisa took her scissors away.
